Does you life lack lustre?
Do you have an annoying brown or white mark on a front tooth?
This is probably due to the enamel surface not forming correctly. Enamel can malform for a number of reasons:
- Trauma to a baby tooth whilst young which affected the developing adult tooth
- Recurrent abscesses around a baby tooth affecting the unerupted adult tooth
- Serious illness when young which causes prolonged fever such as scarlet fever
- Hereditary conditions which cause the enamel not to form correctly
- Excessive fluoride consumption.as a child
Over the summer I have been trialling a product from the USA called Opalustre with promising results
Opalustre promotional photos showing the achieved using Opalustre paste
and a 21 days at-home whitening system
It is designed to help with superficial demineralisation affecting a small number of teeth
It can’t help every situation- severe cases will still need the fault to be covered manually by a filling, veneer or crown– but it certainly has it’s uses.
The best bit is that it just involves some polishing with a special acidic paste and some time with me in the practice.
So, if you have an annoying white or brown area on your tooth (that’s not decay!) then this product could help.
We currently have Opalustre on an introductory promotion of only £30 for a 20 minute session* . If you think it could help you, then let us know.
*whitening extra but not essential
