This is really good for removing stubborn surface stains and discolouration on a tooth that are resistant to regular scaling and polishing. Commonly these are the stains from tea, coffee, red wine, smoking, etc..
Profijet does not involve the drill.
A controlled stream of air, water and sodium bicarbonate, is passed through a mixing nozzle and “sprayed” on the teeth to remove the stains. Sodium bicarbonate is a mild polishing agent but very effective when used in this way.
Profijet is very good at removing stains from teeth but if you are not happy with the general colour of your teeth then Tooth Whitening may be more appropriate for you.
